Entry 36.
Well the little pregnant or recently-pregnant dog came to the fence yesterday evening and poked around in the food that I had put out for Roscoe and Roscoe Junior and I brought her some hot dogs and some Italian cream cake. She took some pieces of the hot dogs (not the junky kind, these were Whole Foods hot dogs so quit wringing yer hands already) from my hand. She might turn out to come into the fence and get taken care of, though she's kind of still scared now. She has two collars on, a bark collar and a regular leather collar and they have never been adjusted and have the straps still hanging off so they have never really been adjusted.
I mean what the hell.
She has yellow eyes.
Yesterday morning I got the babysitters here and I managed to lug Annie Belle into the back of the car thanks to a couple small pieces of bacon brought by one of the babysitters and about an hour into the two-hour trip she pooped all over the back seat of the car. She had not had breakfast and I thought that was wiser but she may have held some food over from the night before actually, I didn't go in to check so I really can't say that she had not had breakfast because she actually might have. But anyway there was a nasty stench all the way to the animal shelter and she got some of it on her and when I got there I was at first told that I would have to foster her for a couple weeks while they placed her but then at the last minute the lady comes back out and says We'll take her. They really fell in love with her as she's a super sweet dog and they were just fawning all over her and she was just eating it up. I was so happy to see her getting some attention as I did not have much to give her during this entire process as I am very tired from fibromyalgia and also migraine and also from just being tired because fibromyalgia gives you insomnia and also my migraine meds do that too on occasion and it's very very hard to get quality sleep around here, plus I'm a very nervous person and a very light sleeper usually and I tend to be very jumpy which in the end of it all makes me very tired. So if I manage to even get the dogs their food and water during the day, I'm doing pretty well, and I should cut myself some slack for not being the perfect pet parent for dogs that I'm trying not to bond with anyway because I'm trying to get them their forever homes.
So. There's that. No good deed going unpunished. Annie Belle is getting a new home and they have three docs on staff so she'll get treatment for her heartworms and I have yet to contact the shelter again so that I can help with that which I want very much to do and I also want to know if I can hear from the people eventually, when they adopt her, such as pics and texts on how she's doing and such, so I'd better go right now and finish up this post so I can call the shelter back and leave a message because I bet they're not answering the phones today because they are probably tired.
Like everybody else. Maybe you should take a nap. It's raining outside, great nap weather, naps and this kind of weather are really aligned and it makes it all just flowy.
